Brief: Decorate new build flats in barn conversion.
This late 18th Century barn has had many uses over the years including a builders storage facility. But recently it was bought by a developer who has created this stunning conversion into four flats.
Works Carried out:
To prepare all surfaces for new decoration.
Applied a miss coat and emulsion coats to walls and ceilings.
Apply two undercoats to all timer skirtings, architraves, doors, window sills.
Apply top coat gloss finish to all skirtings, architraves, doors, window sills.
Brief: Fully decorate new double height barn extension and redecorate original barn living and kitchen area.
The original request was to just decorate the newly plastered double height barn extension. The customer wanted the room to be light and airy so a mist coat and a further two coats of white emulsion were applied to the walls and ceiling.
At the apex was a glue lam beam that they wanted painted in a traditional contrasting colour. Therefore it was decided that the beam was treated with a knotting, primed and undercoated and two coats of Farrow & Ball Elephants Breathe was to be applied.
The customer was very impressed with the finish and subsequently requested that the lounge and kitchen areas be redecorated to suit. The final finish with the exposed A frames looked fantastic.
